ABSTRACT:
A simple, precise and accurate UV spectroscopic method has been developed for the quantification of cyamemazine tartrate in bulk and its dosage form. In this study, ethanol was used as a solvent and the absorption maxima was found to be 270nm. The drug followed the Beer-Lambert’s law in the concentration range of 2-12 µg/ml with correlation coefficient (R2) 0.999. Percentage mean recovery of the drug was found to be within limit and the relative standard deviation (SD) was found to be less than 2 % in precision studies. All the validation parameters satisfied by accordance with ICH guidelines. This method can be suggest to routine quality control analysis of cyamemazine tartrate in bulk and its dosage forms.
