ABSTRACT:
Transdermal drug delivery systems of Lornoxicam have been formulated by using solvent casting method. Matrix patches were prepared by using Chitosan and different grades of hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) as polymers by incorporating glycerol as plasticizer and Tween-80 as permeation enhancer. All the patches were uniform with respect to physicochemical and FTIR evaluation. The invitro permeation studies indicated that matrix patches containing Chitosan: HPMCk100 in the ratio of 1:2 shown better release. Tween-80 was incorporated to enhance the permeation of drug. The formulation containing 30% w/w glycerol has exhibited better enhancement for the permeation of Lornoxicam. Skin irritation study revealed that the free of irritation.
